I’m an editorial photographer based on the Gulf Coast of South Florida and regularly shoot for commercial and corporate clients bringing a natural editorial feel to his work thanks to background in photojournalism.
I am a Wisconsin transplant growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida as a teenager and came to appreciate the power of photography from the St. Petersburg Times newspaper (now the Tampa Bay Times). I was fortunate enough to later go on to work as a part-time staff photographer for their Citrus County Bureau while attending the University of Florida. After College and a few internships around the country I began a freelancing career working as a correspondent for Associated Press and Getty Images, as well as newspapers including USA Today and the New York Times.
I transitioned from newspapers and wires to editorial and commercial work a few years ago, focusing on what I enjoy shooting most, editorial portraits.
My wife and I chose to dig roots and raise our family here in Southwest Florida. Its an area that constantly growing, but maintains a small town feel, and most importantly is a quick and convenient drive to the three major metropolitan areas in the state, Tampa, Orlando and Miami.
Fort Myers is home to the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins every spring and has recently been nicknamed “Dunk City” after Florida Gulf Coast University’s run to the 2013 NCAA Mens Basketball Sweet 16 Tournament.
The Islands of Sanibel and Captiva are famous for their world class beaches. Naples, Florida is loaded with culture and a place Smithsonian Magazine considers one of “The 20 Best Small Towns in America 2012.”
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work, please let me know if I can help with any project you have down here in South florida or anywhere else for that matter.
